Our Team

Jason Giblet

Chief Executive Officer/Chief Investment Officer

I grew up in Cordell, Oklahoma, where at the age of five my mother decided that she would enroll me in the wrestling program at the local OSU extension office. I attribute my wrestling experience with teaching me many of life’s lessons to be successful. That is where I learned the discipline and willpower to work hard to achieve one’s goals and overcome obstacles. When I reached middle school, I had a dear coach tell me, “If I would work out and train until I felt my opponent had gone home, then put in an additional two hours that I would have the advantage” (Life Lesson #1, work harder than your competition). By the time my senior year finally rolled around, I found myself standing on the podium in the champion spot for the 1992 2A State Wrestling Championship (Life Lesson #2, set goals and dream big).

The night of March 28, 1993, I was involved in a severe car accident that resulted in the fracture of both the C6 & C7 vertebrae and a compound fracture to my jaw. I recall laying on my back in a ditch, trying to sit up after being thrown from a pickup at 80mph. I lay there for approximately 2 hours before anyone found me, aspirating the blood from the fracture of my jaw and dislodged teeth. I literally was drowning in my own blood; paralyzed, terrified, and fighting for every single breath.  The next morning, I did in-fact wake up, the ICU Doctor told me that “I suffered from Superman Syndrome, that I thought I was 10 foot tall and bulletproof” (Life Lesson #4, be aware of your own bias and vulnerabilities)

I spent the next two weeks in the intensive care unit at Saint Anthony’s Hospital, paralyzed down from just above the armpits; diagnosed with quadriplegia, double Pneumococcal Pneumonia, on a ventilator, a broken jaw, a traction device screwed into my skull, significantly fewer teeth, and still no guarantee that I was going to live. (Life Lesson #5, never give up)

It was at this point that I realized that everything before my accident had been physical, that I had never even considered a more intellectual path for my future. Though, that was truly the only acceptable and traversable path that I could see before me at that point. I found a passion for the social science and statistical mathematics of the global financial machine. I went back to college in 1995 and received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Central Oklahoma in Dec 1998. (Life Lesson #6. Be humble, stay positive, even small progress is progress, and always try your best)

So, in May of 1999 I went to work for Edward Jones Investments as a stockbroker and investment representative. There I spent the next 23 years studying my passion, growing their business, expanding my knowledge, and learning all I could. Working for my former employer, I realized that a substantial portion of the revenue generated from the northwest quadrant of Oklahoma was leaving the state to provide high paying jobs in cities like St Louis, Mo, and Tempe, Az. This started me wondering, if we started our own firm headquartered right here in the heart of Western Oklahoma, could we possibly capture 1 to 2 percent of that market share? How many above median wage job opportunities could we create for someone to come back to (or move to) Western Oklahoma?  What would the economic impact of that be? On May 20th 2022 I rolled away from Edward Jones and launched GibCo Capital Advisors with 0 clients and $0 income, and no guarantee that anyone would come with me.  Luckily, 170 of my clients did come with me in the first year of business.

That is my background, my experience and my vision. It is my hope that you see this as worthy an endeavor and amazing opportunity as I do for Western Oklahoma. We would love the opportunity to earn your business and grow together.

Sincerely,
Jason Giblet, AAMS®

Arleth Cifuentes

Chief Operating Officer

I moved to Clinton in 2008 alongside my husband and two young kids. We had been accustomed to having family nearby while living in Guatemala and Virginia and moving to Clinton changed that drastically.  Looking back now that my son and daughter are off in college, I can say the move was the best decision. Clinton has been a wonderful place to raise our kids. In 2014 I began working with Jason at Edward Jones. The financial field was brand new to me, but I was looking forward to learning. My favorite part of what I do is getting to know our clients and letting them know we are always willing to help them with their financial needs. Finances can be an emotional part of someone’s life and having people you can trust makes a difference. When Jason decided to start GibCo Capital Advisors, I did not hesitate to join him. We both wanted to provide a unique service to our clients and knew we had more to offer them and the Western Oklahoma community.  Gibco has been a labor of love during the last couple of years and we are excited to continue serving our community and many more clients in the future.

Having grown up in Weatherford, I have a great appreciation for the people and culture of western Oklahoma. I'm blessed to have the opportunity to serve our communities in the area of wealth management with an independent local firm. I joined Gibco Capital Advisors in January of 2024, and passed my Series 65 in February 2024. I graduated from SWOSU, summa cum laude, with a B.B.A. in Finance (2018).
